Producers can match dual-tire pressure by adding pressure-equalizing systems, made up of a valve with two stainless-steel-covered rubber hoses extending one to each tire stem. Such systems minimize tire wear by allowing dual tires to adjust for uneven roads. They also minimize internal heat buildup and decrease rolling resistance. The article also describes an in-tire pressure-sensing system that uses a radio signal to alert the driver when a tire needs air.
