The Slag Cement Association (SCA) is accepting nominations for SCA 2014 Project of the Year Awards now through Nov 30, 2014.  This competition recognizes projects for excellence and innovation in concrete using slag cement.  The 2014 nominations will include projects completed or scheduled to be completed between Jan 1, 2013 and Dec 31, 2014.  Last year, the 2013 Project of the Year Awards program drew a record number of nominations and recognized nine projects from across the US in the categories of Architectural Design, Concrete Durability, Green Design, High Performance, Innovative Application and Sustainability. “The SCA Slag Project of the Year Awards are a great way for us to communicate the tremendous advantages slag has to offer our built environment” says John Melander, Executive Director of SCA. 2014 Awards will be presented during ACI’s Spring Convention at the Committee 233 on Ground Slag in Concrete meeting in Kansas City April 14, 2015.  Entry forms can be found on the association website or by contacting John Melander.   With this news release we have attached the 2013 award winners news release.
