2000px-Cemex_logo.svgCEMEX announced that it has reached an agreement in the sale of certain assets in the U.S. to Grupo Cementos de Chihuahua (GCC) for $400 million as part of its plans to sell as much as $1.5 billion in assets this year and next.

The facilities include CEMEX's cement plants in Odessa, Texas and Lyons, Colorado, three cement terminals and the building materials business in El Paso, Texas and Las Cruces, New Mexico.

"These assets strengthen GCC's footprint in key regional markets, enhance our ability to serve the construction industry efficiently, and support our long-term growth strategy in the United States," Enrique Escalante, GCC chief executive officer, said in a statement.
