LaFarge Canada Inc. was was a sponsor for the HUB’s Bike to Work week May 30-June 5th in Metro Vancouver and educated the more than 11,500 riders that participated on concrete truck blindspots. The company operates 100 ready-mix concrete trucks which travel throughout Vancouver and while they train drivers to develop cautious behavior, they decided to reach out to cyclists and build their awareness according to David Beaupre´, VP, Ready-Mix for the Greater Vancouver Area.

During the event, LaFarge had one of their truck out with cones that highlighted the blind spots for cyclists to avoid and had volunteers share tips such as planning routes, using hand signals, and riding in a straight line

HUB Cycling Director of Corporate Engagement and Events Laura Jane spoke highly of their partnership with LaFarge, "We also had record-breaking Bike to Work Week participation this spring and couldn't have done it without the support of businesses like Lafarge."
