Magid recently released their guide to the American National Standard Institute's cut resistance standards. The guide features a new system that offers a more precise range to reflect advances in cut-resistant materials and technology, allowing safety managers to make better choices when selecting personal protective equipment.

The new standard divides Level 4 into levels A4-A6, while Level 5 is now levels A5-A9. In addition, the new system standardizes testing with only a Tomodynamometer Test Machine (TDM) rather than a TDM or Cut Protection Performance Tester (CPPT).
