A Fails Management Institute survey of the Kansas City concrete market showed that the market's acceptance of concrete was well below desired levels. The Institute recommended that the local industry create a "Blue Ribbon Driveway Program" (BRD). Through the BRD program, members of the local concrete industry have set out to show Kansas City that it can produce a quality product and stand behind it. The goal is to raise the standard of concretedriveway production to impeccable levels through contractor qualification, promotion and advertising. Public acceptance has been overwhelming.
