The National Ready Mixed Concrete Association (NRMCA) recently unveiled its new coordinated industry campaign , Build with Strength. This program is based on a significant research investment by the NRMCA to help understand the motivation behind certain construction material use, including concrete.

According to their research, factors such as strength and durability have led the disjoin/build community to favor concrete construction. Misconceptions about cost and environmental impact, however, have led some to use methods considered less safe by some such as wood:

“All of us in the concrete industry know we offer a superior construction product that delivers safety, durability and strength to designers, architects, builders, investors and consumers,” said NRMCA President Robert Garbini. “What this campaign is about is spreading that message to the audiences that are either unaware of or reluctant to embrace concrete as the standard bearer of durability.”
