The ACPA has rescheduled their webinar, "Taking a New Look at Cold Weather Concrete Paving" to Thursday, Nov 12 from 1:00 p.m.- 2:00 p.m. EST. This is a change in order to honor Veteran's Day. The webinar will be presented by Mark Snyder, Ph.D., P.E., Consultant, American Concrete Pavement Association. Snyder comes to the webinar with more than 30 years of experience in structural and pavement engineering. His particular focus is on concrete pavement design, rehabilitation, and material issues. He will bring this kind of emphasis to the webinar.
The webinar will focus on the basic and advanced techniques for cold weather concrete pavement placement, as well as construction techniques.
The session will cover: the basic definition of cold weather; the effects of cold weather on concrete in the short- and long-term; and ways to retain the necessary heat of hydration. Synder will also present on special concrete mixtures, temperature recommendations, and steps one can take when the impending cold weather arrives.
To those that attend, ACPA will provide a certificate for one professional development hour to those wishing to complete an optional “evidence of learning exam” following the webinar.
