Denver, Pa. (November 24, 2008) - High Concrete Group LLC today announced that Jeffrey D. Smith of Chester Springs, Pa., has assumed the role of president. Mr. Smith previously served as senior vice president of operations at High Industries Inc.
Having earned an engineering degree from Stevens Institute of Technology, Hoboken, N.J., and an MBA from Southern Methodist University, Dallas, Tex., Mr. Smith brings 24 years of industrial management experience including executive leadership roles at CertainTeed Corporations, ElkCorp, and Colgate Palmolive.
Thomas M. McEvoy, previously president of High Concrete Group since 2002, has assumed the role of executive vice president. In his new role, Mr. McEvoy will focus on business development and diversified growth and assume the Chairmanship of the Precast Concrete Institute, the industry's national organization in which High has been a strong leadership presence for more than forty years.
Under Mr. McEvoy's tenure, High Concrete Group expanded its product line and has grown from a one-plant company in Denver, Pa., to a five-plant company operating in four states which now serves customers throughout the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic, and northeastern United States.
