Getting the most from a trade show requires that you plan the day so your time isn't wasted. Spend about 15 minutes in the morning outlining the plan for the day. Pay attention to tips offered by friends and co-workers on what to see. Mark which exhibits you want to see and what questions you want to ask. Get critical information about quality, requirements, design, etc. Plan routes through the show well to save time that would be consumed travelling. Be assertive in communication with salespeople--make sure that they know if you are or are not in the market for specific products.
