The National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) will celebrate its Women in Construction (WIC) Week from March 6-12. The focus of this time is to highlight women as a visible component of the construction industry and it is dedicated to all women in the industry and their contributions to successful projects.
This week is an opportunity for the organization to put a spotlight on the opportunities available to women in the construction field. NAWIC President Riki F. Lovejoy, CBT, CIT says that the organization provides many resources for leadership skills training, networking and mentoring opportunities on local, regional and national levels:
“Being a member of NAWIC and participating in its programs is one of the best values in the industry for developing skills needed to excel, whether in the field or in the office. And the construction industry is beginning to better understand how having women in leadership positions is having a positive impact in all areas.”
