American Concrete Pumping Association has announced the addition of its new Board Members for regions 2, 4, and 6. Gary Brown and Tony Ingress were re-elected as board members from regions 2 and 4. Congratulations to new ACPA Board members Christ Pernicano! New board members will take office at the ACPA Annual Meeting on February 3, 206 for a two-year term.
Second, ACPA announced that they have created a new Certified Operator Search and Operator Evaluation Form.
This new certification, in compliance with new ASME B.30 standards will help those in the industry with the necessary tasks. There is now a search function available on ACPA’s website which allows users of the site to search and verify operator certification. The search tool is easy to use and “identifies the areas in which the operator holds certification and what the status of the certification is — whether current or expired.”
In addition, the Operator Evaluation Form for ACPA members is also now available. This will help “facilitate the evaluation of an operator’s capability in operating a concrete pump.”
Finally, to encourage continued education in the field, ACPA has endorsed the insurance provider NBIS Inc., and will now offer webinars to help “concrete pumpers, contractors, and ready mixed companies navigate the American Society of Mechanical Engineerings new B30.27-2014 safety standard.”
The webinar is entitled “An Introduction to ASME B30.27-2014 with Responsibilities Delineation.” Hosted by Robert Edwards of NBIS, the webinar can be viewed at www.concretepumpers.com.
