The National Ready Mixed Concrete Association has introduced two additions to its popular Online Safety Series for mixer truck drivers and fleet personnel. Pre-trip Inspection for a Rear Discharge Mixer and Pre-trip Inspection for a Front Discharge Mixer are two separate, comprehensive lessons that contain the latest daily best practice, seven-step inspection procedures to help meet mandated federal regulatory requirements (additional steps are included for rear or front discharge mixer trucks with liftable axles).
Each streamed lesson is accessible for individual viewing 24/7 and concludes with a self-check quiz and a personalized proof-of-training certificate. “Pre-trip inspections for commercial vehicles are federally regulated, so this is a very important safety and compliance training tool for the ready mixed concrete industry,” said Gary Mullings, NRMCA senior vice president of compliance and operations. “These new offerings also don’t combine the rear and front mixer trucks into one lesson, which could be expected since front discharge mixers are only 20% of the market. They are different lessons, clearly recognizing that there are significant functional differences between the two types of mixers.”
To add authenticity to each offering, NRMCA filmed each video at an NRMCA Producer member location; in this case Ozinga Bros. for the rear discharge lesson and Carew Concrete for the front mixers. These two new titles bring the total series to seven offerings:
