As I was getting ready for World of Concrete, I was thinking back to how this industry has evolved. My first batch plant was a 3-cubic-yard central mix plant that we operated with levers and beam scales. The batch man would stick his head out of the window and yell, “stop!” to position the driver to receive the load. Of course, the batch man had him stop before completely pulling out from under the plant so he could see if the load “looked right” or if it needed some adjustments.
