Oldcastle Precast has been selected to provide precast concrete z-shaped substructure segments and a 20-foot tall seawall for the City of Seattle’s Elliot Bay Seawall Reconstruction Project. The $371 million project, is part of the waterfront located in downtown Seattle, WA. Old Castle will be part of repairing a 100 year old seawall that the Seattle Department of Transportation determined was in need of some serious repair. 

The new seawall structure will consist of “cast-in-place support slab with custom precast concrete face panels, precast concrete Z-superstructure segments, and precast sidewalk panels,” according to a press release from Old Castle. 

In total, 400 precast concrete Z-superstructure segments were manufactured and shipped by Oldcastle Precast. 

The Elliott Bay Seawall Project is scheduled to be completed by mid-2016.
