You might say it’s too early to start thinking about World of Concrete, but really it’s less than 150 days before the show. This year promises to be the largest commercial construction event in 2016, with exhibitors from around the world, exhibiting in special product and action areas, including The Producer Center -- a marketplace of materials, equipment, demos, and seminars for concrete producers.

New for 2016, WOC will launch a new area dedicated to precast concrete with new products, technologies, and equipment, including coring machines, pipe unloaders, precast forms, above/below ground precast, concrete pipe, manhole and septic tank equipment, and more.

It promises to be a great show and we hope to see you there. Sign up to get notified as soon as registration opens this fall.

Now that you have WOC and all the great, new producer products and technologies on your mind, let’s talk about MIP. Each year, World of Concrete exhibitors submit their products to the Most Innovative Product Award Program. The event showcases to WOC attendees and readers of the official show magazines the best new products that will be exhibited at WOC 2016. This is the only annual award program honoring innovative new products designed for all segments of the concrete and masonry industries. So I’m surprised we have so few participants from the concrete producer industry. There’s been a lot of talk about new technology in the industry and we encourage you to showcase it. There are two categories specifically for producers: Concrete Productionand Delivery Equipment and new this year, Precast & Block Production. So go ahead and submit your nominations for the 2016 Most Innovative Products Awards today.

While we’re talking about great events, I have to mention the ready mixed concrete industry’s premier event – NRMCA’s ConcreteWorks. This will be my first time attending the conference, and I look forward to taking in as much information and networking opportunities as I can. What are some tips you can share with me about getting most out of the event?
