CIM students check attendees in at the World of Concrete CIM steering committee auction in Las Vegas. Next year's auction takes place Feb. 4 at the show.

The Concrete Industry Management (CIM) program at California State University, Chico, has received its “one millionth dollar” donation.

The milestone was reached through donations to the program by 110 corporate and 36 individual gifts from patrons and contributors the last three and a half years.

“These donations, along with the generous gifting from the CIM National Steering Committee, have made our programs the success we hoped for when our local Patrons Foundation was created in December 2005,” said Douglas Guerrero, chairman of the Chico State CIM Patrons. The program graduated its first seven students in May and expected to have more than 70 declared majors when the fall term began. For more on the program, visit www.csuchico.edu/cim.

Also, the steering committee is again seeking donations for its annual fund-raising auction that will be held at 1 p.m., Feb. 4, at World of Concrete in Las Vegas. Money raised benefits the steering committee in support of the CIM programs at Middle Tennessee State University, Arizona State University, New Jersey Institute of Technology, California State University at Chico, and Texas State University - San Marcos.
