Heldenfels Enterprises Inc. (HEI) will supply precast concrete seating risers for Baylor University's new 45,000-seat stadium.

The Populous designed stadium sits on a 93-acre site located across the Brazos River from Baylor’s campus on the east frontage road of Interstate 35 in Waco.

Heldenfels was recently awarded the project by a construction management joint venture of Austin Commercial, LP and Flintco, LLC. HEI has demonstrated their capabilities in sports projects of this magnitude through success with similar projects, including Cowboys Stadium, the AT&T Center, Reliant Stadium, and Minute Maid Field.  Such endeavors in the precast industry require quality products and exceptional project management.

Heldenfels is expected to produce 185,000 square-feet of risers for the new landmark in Waco. The company has teamed up with Lowe Precast of Waco to produce the approximate 1,400 pieces needed for construction.

According to Baylor-stadium.com, “The stadium will be the largest project in Central Texas history and has the potential to transform the city of Waco.”

Work is currently about 20 percent complete and the next step is to add the precast concrete seating area. Completion of the new $250 million stadium is set for next summer in time for kickoff the 2014 season opener.

HEI has two manufacturing plants in Texas, one in Corpus Christi and the other in San Marcos. HEI is active in its traditional construction markets–highway, marine and industrial–while continuing to build on technological advances to expand into new markets, as it did over the past 15 years with sports facilities.
