Formed in 1968, US MIX is a premier blending and packaging company located in Denver, Colorado. We manufacture and package products including cement mixes, sands, grouts, fast sets, hydraulic cements, stucco and colors, blacktop patches, mortars, lightweight concretes and more. Not only does US MIX manufacture our own products but we also specialize in toll blending, private labeling and packaging for a variety of customers. We are not a “me too” manufacturer. We specialize in what we know and do best; to produce a solid group of products we can lean on in complete confidence.
What defines US MIX is our ability to make decisions with integrity allowing us to continually grow our business with a ‘right-minded’ attitude. Our philosophy is simple, “We are governed by the principle of doing business in a first-class, right was manner” – John McHugh, General Manager. Due to this mindset we have many repeat customers. The way we are able to provide a ‘higher’ quality to our customer is in providing high quality resources on preparation and usage. We already produce our products with strict quality control standards. Our business has steadily grown throughout the recession. To be able to grow let alone survive the economic downturn was due to our people first and foremost; adaptability and sacrifice. We found new outlets to sell products in and stayed true to strong customer service.
Keeping a strong team of employees is an ongoing challenge. To do so, first would be to create excitement; autonomy and accountability in all jobs. Let people run their own departments and make necessary changes and improvements. Second, you always have to be competitive in pay, benefits and bonuses.
We see our influence on the industry as mentors, trainers and educators. We present educational information regarding proper concrete repair preparation and application to groups of architects, engineers, contractors and other industry professionals. Additionally, we support the work our member associations by referencing their best practice documents on our Technical Data Sheets. In align with the idea of sustainability and green practices within the industry we use Fly Ash and Silica Fume in the manufacturing of our products to the highest replacement design allowable.
One trend we are seeing is that more struggling tradesmen are adding concrete work to their repertoire. As a product manufacturer and instructor, we must leave nothing to question providing instruction. Clear, concise communication must be at the forefront of our minds in order to steer each customer best; each according to his/her needs.
We are currently members of several industry associations. The American Society of Testing Materials (ASTM) we have an employee committee member of C01 and C09 committees. The International Concrete Repair Institution (ICRI) with an employee active on the International Sustainability Committee. We are members of the American Concrete Institution (ACI). The Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) with an employee as Denver Chapter President. The Rocky Mountain Masonry Institute (RMMI) with an employee as Committee Chairperson and the American Segmental Bridge Institute (ASBI).
For over 45 years, US MIX has proven itself as a powerhouse based on the values of quality and integrity.
