As the first international commercial concrete and masonry construction show in 2008, World of Concrete will offer all the new products, the latest technologies, an informative education program consisting of 90-minute and three-hour seminars, indoor/outdoor exhibits, events & demonstrations, plus resources and valuable information for all industry professionals.

For the third consecutive year, World of Concrete is honored to be part of the U.S. Department of Commerce International Buyer Program to further expand the U.S. exhibitors' international presence.

World of Concrete, Jan. 21-25 in Las Vegas, is known for the best how-to educational program in the business. The 2008 Education Program offers more than 150 sessions, new tracks, and a revised Master Certificate program.

"We are very excited about the changes and additions to the 2008 Education Program," says Bonnie King, senior conference manager for World of Concrete.

The revised Master Certificate Program requires nine hours in a major track and three hours in elective tracks. By allowing three hours in an elective track, the attendee benefits from three hours in an additional or complimentary track. Also new this year, both three-hour and 90-minute seminars qualify toward the Master Certificate, adding even more options and flexibility for completing the 12 hours required for this Certificate.

A new track addition for 2008 is Green Building in the 90-minute Seminars. Sustainability and environmentally friendly construction is growing in demand, making this track of six sessions a timely addition to the Education Program.

The Women in Concrete Luncheon & Forum continues to grow in popularity and offers great networking opportunities for women in construction. The event has sold out its first two years. In 2007, two 90-minute sessions were featured in the educational program and for 2008, a total of four sessions will address issues concerning women in construction.

Several tracks have been renamed to better reflect the topics covered. These include renaming the Basics track Concrete Fundamentals. Housing has been renamed Residential Concrete and Management has been renamed Business & Project Management. Complete track information will be available online.

For the second year, the State of Florida's Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) and the Construction Industry Licensing Board (CILB) have approved Hanley Wood Exhibitions as an Educational Provider. Select technical, safety and business courses will be submitted for approval for certified and registered general contractors, building contractors, residential contractors and other construction professionals licensed by the state of Florida.

Also new for 2008, Continuing Education opportunities are expanding to include three-hour seminars as well as 90-minute sessions. Now all sessions will be submitted for American Institute of Architects Continuing Education Systems (AIA/CES) learning units and Professional Development Hours (PDHs)

OSHA's 10-hour Construction Safety for Concrete Construction will be held Monday and Tuesday. This 10-hour safety course satisfies the Occupational Safety and Health Administration's (OSHA) 10-hour construction safety training program requirements. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive an OSHA construction safety and health 10-hour course completion card.
