Lehigh Hanson, Inc. has appointed Scott Szwejbka to senior vice president of its Hanson Pipe & Precast division, the largest manufacturer of concrete pipe and precast products in North America. Szwejbka replaces Mark Carpenter, who was recently tapped to lead Hanson Engineered Products, a division of Hanson Building Products North America comprised of Hanson Pressure Pipe, Hanson Structural Precast, and Hanson Pipe & Precast Canada.

A member of the Hanson Building Products team since 2005, Szwejbka has held a variety of management roles across multiple product lines. Most recently, he served as vice president of sales for Hanson Pipe & Precast’s U.S. operations. As SVP of Hanson Pipe & Precast, Szwejbka will oversee sales and manufacturing for Hanson’s 40 U.S. Pipe & Precast manufacturing facilities. Szwejbka earned his BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and holds an MBA from the University of Illinois.
“With his vast, proven experience maintaining and growing Hanson’s pipe and precast sales, Scott was the perfect candidate to fill the vacant SVP position,” said Plamen Jordanoff, president of Hanson Building Products. “His strong leadership and hands-on expertise within the category will foster continued team-wide success serving existing customers and tapping new markets.”

Hanson Building Products has also selected Ken Primavera, PE, a 17-year veteran of the water transmission industry, to help lead its Hanson Pressure Pipe division as vice president of sales and engineering.

Primavera brings more than 40 years experience in engineering, sales, and project management to his new role. He joins Hanson from Ameron International Corp., where he served most recently as president of the Wind Towers Division and vice president of engineering, marketing, and sales for the Water Transmission Group, and in previous years as a sales manager. Prior to Ameron, Primavera worked in a variety of engineering and sales roles at Chicago Bridge & Iron Co.

“Ken offers the ideal combination of experience, from technical expertise to sales to project management, that is essential to leading our team as they manage large-scale municipal projects with finite details and strict budgets,” says Mark Carpenter, president of Hanson Engineered Products. “His work with Ameron’s Water Transmission Group also leaves him in the unique position of understanding Hanson’s core products while bringing fresh perspectives from the burgeoning renewable energy industry.”

Primavera holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Valparaiso University and a
certificate of Strategic Thinking and Management from Wharton School of the University of
Pennsylvania.
