Occasionally, a ready mixed concrete supplier may be called upon to furnish no-slump concrete for special applications. Usually used in precast, block and pipe applications, no-slump concrete can come in several forms: the most common forms are called roller-compacted concrete (RCC), and pervious or "popcorn" concrete. Roller-compacted concrete has been used in slab and pavement construction and in the modification of water-retaining structures. Pervious concrete is often used for parking lot pavements in Florida, but is easily damaged by freeze-thaw conditions. It does have excellent free-draining and structural properties that make it ideal for sub-base pavements even in very harsh climates.
