Consolidated Concrete in Omaha, Nebr., Westroc Inc., of Pleasant Grove, Utah, and Rinker Materials in Ft. Myers, Fla., are three examples of fast, new or renovated concrete plants.

Consolidated owner Dave Werner built a 7-acre plant, 13 miles west of Omaha and has been happy with the results. Westroc installed a slurry mixing and batching system at one of its seven locations four years ago. The installation not only controlled dust, but also took valuable seconds off truck loading. Rinker Materials learned a smooth running operation, whether it is computer-controlled or manual, can help save time and money in the long run.
