Simple, accurate and technically correct brochures and warning tags are useful for several reasons: They are inexpensive, and easily distributed. The Aggregate Ready-Mix of Minnesota (ARM) technical committee produces such brochures to promote concrete use, educate homeowners, and detail construction methods. Their brochures are handed out to homeowners doing their own concrete work, carried in ready-mix trucks and company cars for distribution at delivery sites, and included with monthly bills. The titles of some of the ARM brochures are: Guidelines for Durable Concrete, Concrete Curing and Sealing for Contractors, Homeowners Guide for Concrete Curing and Sealing, Vapor Barriers Under Slabs on Grade, and Understanding Concrete Popouts. The warning tags include precautions about: excessive water, cold weather, and skin injury.
