Mack Truck Safety Competition
Tuesday, Jan. 22 to Friday, Jan. 25

This event will transform the Orange Lot into an exciting exhibition of driver skills. Ready-mix truck drivers are invited to take part in a course designed to test their expertise in parallel parking, tight turns, and stopping on a dime (or a painted line).

John Deere Load America Competition
Tuesday, Jan. 22 to Thursday, Jan. 24

Front-end loader operators have an opportunity to show off their skills. In this event, drivers are scored on their abilities to back up, park, and move various objects with precision. The challenge will be held in the Gold Lot.

SPEC MIX Bricklayer 500 Competition
Wednesday, Jan. 23

For masons, this sixth annual competition will invite 20 mason/ tender teams to place as many bricks as possible in 60 minutes, while meeting the contest's quality parameters. The teams will go head to head competing for more than $150,000 in cash and prizes, including a 2008 Ford F250 SuperDuty truck.

Pettibone Telehandler Skills Competition
Tuesday, Jan. 22 to Friday, Jan. 25

In 2008, Pettibone will be hosting the third annual telehandler competition. Interested drivers will compete in a closed course designed to represent an actual jobsite where operators will be scored on time, accuracy, and safety in demonstrating their driving skills, lifting and placing, and overall productivity. Participants must be registered for the World of Masonry/World of Concrete and provide proof of their telehandler training, There will be three rounds of competition. The entry deadline is Dec. 21, 2007.

CIM Auction
Thursday, Jan. 24

The annual Concrete Industry Management (CIM) Auction gives attendees the opportunity to bid on valuable construction products and services, and help producers raise money for the CIM National Steering Committee. The CIM programs at Middle Tennessee State University, Arizona State University, New Jersey Institute of Technology, and California State University, Chico, also benefit from the event. In addition to the live auction, bids also can be placed online using Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers' real-time Internet bidding service.
