Medium-duty trucks perform a variety of functions, from hauling aggregate to ready-mix operations. New features and improved designs in these trucks range from mechanical changes to enhance performance, to new cab designs that provide greater driver comfort. Mechanical improvements include: new transmissions for smoother shifting; custom transmissions tailor-made for specific applications; redesigned electrical systems for ease in repair; front frame extensions for front-end-mounted equipment; and easier access to engines and important components for simplified maintenance. Other innovations include: enhanced visibility provided by bigger windows and sloped hoods; improved maneuverability due to greater wheel cut angles; increased driver comfort and simplified operation within redesigned cabs featuring easy-to-reach controls and well placed gauges.
