Oliver Delery, Louisiana and Mississippi sales manager and engineer for Hanson Pipe & Precast, recently received ASTM’s Award of Merit and fellowship, the highest organizational recognition for distinguished service and outstanding participation in ASTM technical committee activities. ASTM recognized Delery for leadership and service to Committee C13 (Concrete Pipe) and for his contributions to the development of standards for concrete pipe.

Delery, an 11-year veteran of Hanson Pipe & Precast, has been a member of ASTM International since 1982 and has served as chairman of Committee C13 since 2007. In addition to his dedication to standards development, Delery’s work has helped to broaden membership to the committee. In 2000 he received the Robert R. Litehiser Award, bestowed annually on a C13 committee member demonstrating outstanding work in their field.

“Oliver Delery’s commitment to the concrete pipe industry is not only evident in his exceptional work at Hanson Pipe & Precast, but in his steadfast leadership in the organizations that are shaping the way our products are specified, made, and installed,” said Scott Szwejbka, SVP of Hanson Pipe & Precast. “His involvement and expertise are helping to move our industry forward, and we could not be more proud of him for this well-deserved honor.”

Prior to joining Hanson in 2002, Delery served as Gulf Coat vice president/corporate engineer for Choctaw, Inc. and president of New Orleans Cement Products Co. Inc.
