The Concrete Industry Management (CIM) program raised $540,000 at its annual auction at World of Concrete. “The support from the concrete industry was tremendous,” said Brian Gallagher, chairman of the CIM marketing committee. It was the highest amount raised in the three years the event has been held.
A rear-discharge mixer and truck donated by McNeilus Cos. and International Truck was again the centerpiece. In addition to the live auction, a silent auction was conducted throughout the show. Items included concrete saws, drills, mixers, vibrators, scaffolding, safety equipment, dust collectors, laptop computers, sports memorabilia, vacation travel packages, and more.
Money raised by the auction benefits the CIM National Steering Committee and also supports the CIM programs at Middle Tennessee State University, Arizona State University, New Jersey Institute of Technology, and California State University-Chico, in addition to helping fund future program expansion.
