At its new product launch in November in Oklahoma City, Terex unveiled the new Total Control System. Drivers can now control a truck's forward and reverse travel with a single joystick, which also operates chute movement.
The electric-over-hydraulic joystick operates drum start/stop, material charge/discharge, main chute up/down and left/right, and fold/unfold of the optional hydraulic folding chutes. This is in addition to the new feature of controlling truck forward/reverse travel direction.
“At the jobsite, the driver switches travel control from the dashboard to the joystick, so that at all times, one hand remains on the steering wheel while the other controls the joystick,” said Steve Howard, director of sales for Terex ready-mix trucks.
