Different people will talk about different aspects of an important construction project. Talk to Bobby Steele and he’ll bend your ear about the quality 66,000 cubic yards of concrete. You would expect that, after all. Steele’s two plants—one about 10 miles north of the project, the other 10 miles away in the opposite direction—supplied all of the cast-in-place concrete starting with the foundation pilings in October 2002. What sets this project apart for Steele and his team is not a single drop of water was added to the mix at the jobsite. Steele’s crew had never done this before.
