Ozinga has announced plans to pump in investments and ramp up hiring and operations at three batch plants it says it acquired in February and March: the former Beloit Redi-Mix in the town of Beloit and two seasonal batch plants in Janesville and Edgerton formerly owned by Churchill Concrete and Stone.
Rich Dembinsky, vice president of Ozinga’s Wisconsin region, said it has had an eye on communities along the Interstate 90/39 corridor in Rock County, where growth in construction and road building has been strong.
“We saw the kind of growth and movement forward and a return to construction that is across the spectrum there (in Rock County), residential, commercial, and civic. That was very intriguing and interesting for us,” Dembinsky said.
Ozinga operates about 90 locations in Illinois, Indiana, Ohio and Wisconsin. It earned a spot on the Chicago Tribune's coveted top workplaces list in 2015.
