Knowing their passion for the environment, I found it interesting that their staff launched a “Screw Earth Day!” campaign a few weeks ago, just before the 39th anniversary approaches. The campaign underscore that one day of action each year is not sufficient to address the pressing needs threatening our warming globe. ...

The Hole Story: Proper Batch Water

Batching pervious concrete is almost a leap of faith for a concrete producer. A leap of faith in that we hope the batch comes out at the right moisture content - not too wet, not too dry.

Respond to this and other Matt Offenburg pervious concrete topics on his blog, The Hole Story.

RMC Foundation Celebrates Earth Day

The RMC Research & Education Foundation is celebrating Earth Day 2009, and the goal of protecting the environment, by highlighting its most recent research on the use of recycled materials in concrete. The Foundation's Crushed Concrete Aggregate (CCA) study demonstrates that crushed returned concrete can be successfully reused as aggregate in fresh concrete. A study on advancing higher-volume use of the waste byproduct fly ash in concrete, co-funded by the Foundation and the United States Department of Energy, also shows that recycled materials can be used in new concrete while still maintaining a high level of quality and performance.

304.6R-09: Guide for Use of Volumetric-Measuring and Continuous-Mixing Concrete Equipment
