By introducing compressed natural gas (CNG) fuel to our fleet operations we have realized a 40% fuel savings, and become an industry leader in the effort to energize American innovation and run cleaner operations.

Since 2011, Ozinga has added over 100 CNG-fueled ready mix trucks and support vehicles to their fleet, with a pledge to convert or replace the entire 500-vehicle fleet to run on CNG by the year 2020.

To further encourage natural gas as a fuel, Ozinga has built CNG fueling stations at two of their ready mix facilities and plans to open even more by the end of the year. A new company, Ozinga Energy (OzingaEnergy.com) was launched in the spring of 2013 to provide fleet fueling as well as CNG station design and construction.

In addition to promoting energy independence, Ozinga has also become a leader in green concrete technology through the use of its Filtercrete Pervious Concrete system to help prevent flooding and filter the air around it. By donating materials to a local high school, Ozinga has had the opportunity to see Filtercrete in action, transforming a contaminated lot into a beautiful garden through the students’ hard work and dedication to the project.

Though Ozinga has experienced growth throughout the years they have maintained their family atmosphere among their employees, customers, and community. Their social intranet provides employees with a place to collaborate and stay in touch with all areas of the company. By increasing presence on social media channels Ozinga has created an open dialogue with customers and other members of the industry. Through continued local support, Ozinga remains a proudly involved member of the community, donating a portion of their revenue each year to charitable causes.

Ozinga’s latest innovation has been their recent implementation of a new Social Media Storyboard at their Mokena, IL headquarters. The brand new Storyboard aggregates all Ozinga-related social media posts and paints a picture of the Ozinga experience in real time, bringing all facets of the company together in one stunning visual display.
