U.S. Concrete left Chapter 11 bankruptcy on Aug. 31. The Houston-based producer filed for bankruptcy on April 29 in a bid to reduce its debt by $272 million.
U.S. Concrete operated 125 ready-mix and seven precast plants this summer, in addition to seven aggregate facilities. Its divisions include Builders' Redi-Mix, Central Concrete Supply Co., Ingram Concrete, and Superior Concrete Materials.
Sales in 2009 totaled $534.5 million, a 29% decrease from $754.3 million the previous year. The company lost $88.2 million last year and lost $132.4 million in 2008.
