Determining your concrete's signature aids in mix-design adjustment and creates services for your customer. An adiabatic heat signature (AHS) precisely measures heat emitted by concrete as cement and water react. In AHS, data are collected and analyzed by a software program that generates a graph of heat readings. The graph is unique for a given combination of materials. If mix proportions vary, different admixtures are used; or if the cement changes, the AHS also changes. The AHS can be correlated with strength and both initial and final setting times.
