In its second year, The Precast Show is the nation's only trade show that features equipment, products, and services devoted exclusively to the precast concrete industry. This year's event takes place Feb. 18-20 at the Phoenix Convention Center.

More than 200 suppliers will exhibit products ranging from heavy equipment such as cranes, forklifts, mixers, batch plants, and forms, to accessories such as admixtures, sealants, and lifting devices, to bar coding systems and innovative new plant management software. In addition to 15 hours of exhibit time, The Precast Show includes 27 educational courses that offer the latest in precast-specific technical training, along with courses in management and leadership, finance, safety, and sustainability.

On Thursday, Feb. 18, the show kicks off with a New Member Luncheon and The Pinnacle Awards Competition, where precast producers present innovative ideas, inventions, or problem-solving techniques in a competition judged by their peers. Attendees can take a sneak peak at exhibits between 6-8 p.m. The Precast Show exhibits are open from 11 a.m.–6 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 19, and 11 a.m.–5 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 20.

After the show on Saturday, the Salute to Excellence dinner will celebrate “all things precast.” The event will honor Pinnacle Award winners and Creative Use of Precast Award winners. The event is co-sponsored by the National Precast Concrete Association and the American Concrete Pipe Association. A preview of some of The Precast Show's exhibitors' products follows. Booth numbers were correct at the time of publication.

Prevent corrosion

Stop hydrogen sulfide corrosion with ConShield, a concrete additive which protects sanitary sewers. Because it is neither a surface treatment nor a coating that wears off or peels, ConShield offers protection throughout the concrete, even if damaged or eroded. The product is EPA-approved for precast pipe and manholes, ready mix, and shotcrete. ConShield Technologies Inc. 877-543-2094. Booth #761

Improve water quality

The BioBarrier MBR wastewater membrane treatment system produces high-quality effluent that provides new opportunities for wastewater recycling applications. The barrier requires no complicated backwash and is completely automated. The pre-engineered system fits easily into new and existing precast tank configurations. Bio-Microbics Inc. 800-753-3278. Booth #933

Make cages quickly

CageFlex 260 manufactures steel cage reinforcement for concrete pipes using a closed-loop control system that continuously provides feedback to the welding drive. This ensures consistent current is applied to the weld, allowing the machine to adjust to variables such as differing steel conductivity and worn contactors. Produce round, arch, and oval cage configurations. HawkeyePedershaab. 800-626-1451. Booth #404

Microwave sensors

Hydro-Mix VII microwave sensors for mixers and screw conveyors use advanced Digital Signal Processing filters to enhance the sensors' signal without the loss of data. A second analog output has been added, allowing the sensors to output two different readings simultaneously. The new model also features improved temperature stability and stronger ceramic faceplates. Hydronix Ltd. 888-887-4884. Booth #1063

Equipment protection

MCI Creteskin industrial strength release agent helps extend the life of forms. The clear protective coating prevents concrete from adhering to painted and unpainted metal surfaces. It also protects the underlying substrate from corrosion. The product withstands high pressure and hot water washing. Cortec Corp. 800-426-7832. Booth #1232
